  • 'Twas the Day After Christmas

    'Twas the day after Christmas
    And all through the house
    The presents were scattered
    New dolls through Mickey Mouse.
    The old wrapping paper
    In crumpled balls lay
    In bags and in corners
    Until next trash day.
    Stale gingerbread cookies
    And a half-eaten pie
    Sit on the countertops--
Snacks for those who pass by.
    Mom is up early
    Still in PJ's, dressed.
    Coffee in one hand
    Surveying the mess.
    "Oh, well," she says,
    with weary cheer.
    "At least Christmas Day
    comes but once a year."

By me.  This morning while looking at the scattered remnants of the holiday.
    364 days to go....

Hope you all had a great Christmas!!
